Recommended Action
Hold a public hearing and then adopt a resolution declaring vehicle #6551, the stormwater vactor truck, as surplus to the City's needs and authorizing its disposal per City policy.
Background
Council approved the purchase of a new stormwater vactor truck at its regular meeting of June 4, 2013. The existing stormwater vactor truck, vehicle #6551, is being surplussed and used as a trade-in for the new truck. The trade-in value of $60,000 was based on fair market value, less 10% which is 23% of the original 2002 purchase price.

According to state law, the City must hold a public hearing before it can declare any equipment originally acquired for public utility purposes to be surplus to the City's needs (RCW 35.94.040).

At its meeting of July 16, 2013,Council approved Resolution No. 2237 setting the required public hearing.
