Subject:    Project Approval & Acceptance: 911 Communications Center
Presenter: Mark Palmer
Department: Public Works

Recommended Action
Approve and accept the work completed by Regency NW Construction, Inc. to construct the 911 Communications Center Project.
The City of Puyallup's 911 Communications Center required upgraded mechanical and power efficiencies as well as additional work space which was needed to properly separate staff to address the level of noise generated by radio transmissions and phones. This expansion is expected to accommodate seven to ten years of growth.

The project consisted of substantial tenant improvements to an existing city facility at the corporate yards. Upgrades include controls, a new electrical room and data/communication receptacles. The existing sprinkler configuration was revised and a dry sprinkler system was added to the server room. The existing modular wall system, including floors, frames, suspended ceilings and lights was demobilized and reused. Other items installed included tinted film on existing windows, ceiling insulation, a two-hour metal stud/gyp board fire wall and a back-up generator with associated controls.
