Meeting Date: 03/05/2013
Subject:    South Sound 911 Data Contract Agreement
Presenter: Bill McDonald
Department: City Manager's Office

Information
Recommended Action
Recommend authorizing the City Manager to sign an Agreement with South Sound 911 (successor agency to LESA) providing access to computer sytems and data maintained by SS911.
Background
The City of Puyallup has a history of agreements providing access to computer systems and data managed by LESA. This agreement does not change the terms of access. It recognizes the transition to South Sound 911 as the management entity. The purpose of the Agreement is to ensure that law enforcement entities observe the security protocols required for access to criminal justice data.
Previous Actions (Discussions/Presentations)
This is not a new relationship, the dispatch center has had access agreements for years.
Summary of Proposal
Renews a criminal justice data access agreement which is essential to the effective operation of our dispatch center and police department.
Alternatives/Options

It might be possible to create a separate data access system but is likely far more costly and inefficient.
