Information
Recommended Action
Approve the use of Seizure and Forfeiture funds to construct a perimeter security fence for the Public Safety Building, and authorize the Property and Facilities Division to prepare and release a Request for Proposals to secure construction bids.
Background
The Public Safety Building is in need of practical and functional perimeter security. Currently there are no physical barriers that control ingress/egress to the parking lot and building. It is proposed that a fence of approximately 325 feet in length be constructed to provide the needed security. The fence would include continual slide and/or cantilever gates and walk-through gates. Secured access would be obtained via electronic card readers and remote controls.
