Puyallup Purchases Land for Future Public Safety Building

On August 23, 2016, the Puyallup City Council approved the purchase of 3.06 acres of land on 39th Avenue SE as the possible future location of a new public safety building.

This action was taken pursuant to the Council's stated interest in eventually replacing the City's aging public safety building. In accordance with that goal, the City negotiated the purchase of a portion of real property commonly called the Lumbermen's property. In 2015, Central Pierce Fire and Rescue had purchased the entirety of this property, but will use only 1.99 acres of the total 5.05 acres for its new fire station. Accordingly, Central Pierce has sold the remaining 3.06 acres to the City of Puyallup for $2,181,965.
