Photo Red Light Enforcement

The City of Puyallup currently has 14 camera locations for red light photo enforcement. Red light cameras help to reduce collisions by changing driver behavior. As a result, injuries and fatalities decrease. Red light safety cameras also allow police officers to provide uninterrupted traffic enforcement without assigning an officer to watch the intersection. This enables the department to enhance its enforcement efforts without added costs.

Photo Red Light Enforcement services are contracted through American Traffic Solutions. By state law, infractions captured through the use of automated safety cameras are not reported to Department of Licensing and do not become part of the driver's record. If an infraction is issued and the driver fails to respond or pay the ticket, the account may be transferred to a collection agency.
