2021 Annual Amendments

The City of Puyallup considers amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map once each year. Applications were due by April 1, and the City received one privately initiated application for consideration in the 2021 amendment cycle. The typical process for review includes holding work sessions with the Planning Commission over the summer months, a Planning Commission public hearing and recommendation in late Summer or early Fall, and consideration of that recommendation by City Council in the fall, with City Council action by the end of the year. There may be some adjustments to the process or structure of the meetings this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

The first Planning Commission work session on this application will occur on May 12, 2021. The Planning Commission agenda packet, which will include additional information on the application and Zoom meeting login information, will be posted on the Agendas webpage

  • Proposal: The applicant requests to change the future land use designation of one parcel totaling 0.746-acres from the current split designation of Auto Oriented Commercial (AOC) and Low Density Residential (LDR) to High Density Residential (HDR), and change the associated zoning from CG/RS-06 to Multi-Family Residential (RM-20). A non-project SEPA environmental checklist has been submitted and is under review; a determination will be issued prior to the Planning Commission Public Hearing.
